Dr Amal Amin, an SASTA member, and an Assistant Professor of Plastics, Polymers and Nanotechnology at the National Research Center in Egypt, published a review paper with her team on Sep 14, 2021, in the European Polymer Journal, which is a leading journal in the chemistry of polymers and materials and is classified (Q1). This review summarizes the strategies for synthesizing dendrimers and hyperbranched polymers and highlights their applications in many study fields, such as drug delivery, gene delivery, tissue engineering, catalysis, and energy storage. Therefore, this paper is an extensive reference study for researchers in the field of polymer chemistry and its applications. To read this review, click here.
Moreover, Dr Amal Amin was interviewed in the first episode of the series: “Women in Science” produced by the “Nature Podcast Arabic Edition”. During the podcast, Dr Amal talked about the beginning of her passion for science, the challenges female scientists face, and her kick-off from being only a researcher working in the framework of her laboratory to the horizons of science communication and becoming one of science diplomacy’s international ambassadors.
