Suhad Abdulrahman Yasin is a Ph.D. lecturer at the University of Duhok /Kurdistan region /Iraq. She received her Master’s degree in Chemistry/ Polymer Chemistry in 2009. During her Master’s (2007-2009), she had many published articles focused on preparing new materials for removing heavy metals from aqueous solutions. Since October 2016, her research activities are mainly centered on nanofibers preparation to apply water treatment from hazardous materials.
She is also a principal investigator at Partnerships for Enhanced Engagement in Research (UoD PEER) under Cycle 6 / IRAQ. The name of her project is “Removal of Hazardous Materials from Aqueous Solution using Nanofiber Membranes.” This project is the first of its kind in Iraqi Kurdistan, and the laboratory is also the first in the field of nanotechnology. This project aims to open a door for women to encourage them in the nanotechnology field.
She had many volunteer projects and exhibitions at the University of Duhok to encourage undergraduate students to be concerned about the problems in their society; For example:
- Applying “We Love Reading” in Duhok city to encourage children to love reading.
- Recycling plastics and the plastic problems in the world.
